Harold Fontaine

Harold L Fontaine, age 92, of Pine City, died peacefully, with family by his side on January 8, 2017. Affectionately, everybody's "Gramps", Harold made his lake home a gathering place for family and friends for many years. Generations made great memories thanks to him. Harold was also accomplished at playing both the organ and harmonica, as well as golf. Harold will be missed and loved by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Fontaine, parents Arthur and Cornelia Fontaine, brothers Mel, Lloyd, and Jerry Fontaine; and son-in-law, Mike Riley. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Riley, Mary Gayle Fontaine; grandchildren, Lee Stoerzinger (Maggie), Patricia Riley, Tami Gold (Derek), Kelly Jo Johnson (Randy); great grandchildren, Andrew Riley, Geraldine Stoerzinger, Amelia Gold, Evan Stoerzinger, Kellen Gold, Michaela Johnson and Riley Johnson; siblings, Ken Fontaine and Joan Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at The Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 4-7 p.m., Tuesday with 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue 9:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Mattson Funeral Home. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
