Henry Kenowski

November 28, 1928 — December 11, 2010

Henry "Dean" Kenowski, 82, of Spooner and St. Paul, Minn., passed away at Lynhurst Hospice on December 11, 2010. Dean was born on November 28, 1928 in the town of Rusk, Burnett County, Wisconsin to Henry E. "Hank" Kenowski and Beatrice (Lawrence) Kenowski Cronkhite. He attended Gaslyn School through the eight grade and Spooner High School through the twelfth grade. Dean joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1946. He worked as a carpenter in the Shell Lake Boat Factory before moving to St. Paul, later he returned to Spooner and was employed at the plywood plant in Hayward. Dean loved deer hunting, fishing and spent his childhood at the family home on the Yellow River, fishing for bass off the Hwy H Yellow River Bridge. He is preceded in death by his wife Jeannette; parents Hank and Bea; sisters, RoseMarie and Susan DuBois; brother Ted. Dean is survived by sister Phyllis Kenowski Smith; daughter Donna; son Timothy Carle; stepsons, Pat (Mary) Hess, Randy (Debbie) Hess; stepdaughter Terrylane (Tom) Goeltl; grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service 6:30 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2010 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minn. Family will receive guests from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Interment at a later date in Greendale Cemetery.
