Howard Hartzi

Howard John Hartzi World War II P.O.W. Age 98, of Chisago City, died on April 25, 2016. Howard was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He was captured in North Africa and held Prisoner of War for 2 years and 2 months. Howard was a Lifetime Member of VFW Post #4210 and American Legion Post #225. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elvera. Howard is survived by his wife, Pearl; daughters, Bernice (Henry) Lentz; Carol (Anthony) Sieben; step-children; Kenneth (Judy) Carlson, Ralph (Eileen) Carlson, Gordon (Nancy) Carlson, Lori (Edward) Jovellana; six grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; 17 step-great grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 28005 Old Towne Road, Chisago City. Visitation 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
