Hugo Morisset

Hugo Alcedious Morisset, 89, of Nashwauk, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. Hugo was born May 21, 1923 to George and Ruth (Obert) Morisset in Deer River, MN. He grew up and attended school in Itasca County. Hugo then enlisted in the US Army during WWII and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Hugo was united in marriage on June 20th 1968 to Irma Demings. He was employed as a purchasing agent at M.A. Hanna Mining Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Hugo was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Peggy; 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include, his wife of 44 years: Irma Morisset of Nashwauk, MN; Sons, Virgil (Roxanne) Johnson of Forest Lake, MN, Leslie "Tyke" (Karen) Morisset of Queensland, Australia, Douglas (Kathy) Morisset of Donna, TX; Brother, Frank (Florence) Morisset of Princeton, MN; Sisters, Bertha (Thomas) Hamilton of Grand Rapids, MN, Winifred (Ted) Sundberg of Gilbert, MN, Evelyn (Rudy) Satterfield of Galt, CA; Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Range Funeral Home in Hibbing. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 14 at 2 p.m. at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Forest Lake, MN. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 225 of Forest Lake.
