Ione Hanson

Age 83, of Scandia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully November 10, 2009. She was a lifetime teacher, friend to all, and avid Vikings fan. Ione was born May 25, 1926 in Elkhorn, WI to Earl & Adeline (Folman) McKenzie.

Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth D. Hanson; sisters, Winona Welkos, Phyllis Leeson; brother Clarence McKenzie; brother-in-law Robert Hanson and his wife Wanda. She is survived by her children, Paula (Don) Angell, Noel Hanson, Amy (Mitchell) Johnson; grandchildren, Craig (Jamie) Angell, Kate (John) Dulaney, Kyle (Danielle) Johnson, Carrie (Jason) Leaders; brothers-in-law, Warren Welkos, Plato Leeson; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staffs of Lakeview Hospital and Golden Living Center~Greeley for all of their kindness and care over the past several months.

Memorial Service 11 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Family will greet friends from 3-7 PM, Friday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to service at church. Interment in Elim Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
