Irene Filla, age 84, of Wyoming, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family by her side. Irene was born May 13, 1919 in Wibaux, Montana, the daughter of Andrew and Agnes (Kurkuske) Florex. She was united in marriage to Aloys Filla at the catholic church in Clontare, Minnesota. To this union they had eight children. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1983. She is survived by her son; Jacob (Lynda) Filla of Wyoming, MN, five daughters; Virginia Peters of Clayton, WI, Marcella (John) Warner of Clayton, WI, Lillian (Paul) Warner of Bayport, MN, Helen Filla of Wyoming, MN, Florann Singer of Landfall, MN, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, one brother; Melvin (Kay) Florek of Coon Rapids, MN, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Aloys, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Angeline Kannisto and Susan Filla, four grandchildren; Kenneth, Joseph and Michelle Kannisto and Michael Warner, brothers; William, Sylvester, Don, Remy, son-in-law; Dennis Peters. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday May 11, 2004 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 4:00-8:00 P.M., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Dr., Forest Lake, and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake, MN. Pallbearers were Rick Kannisto, Johnny and Paul Warner Jr., Domanic, Isaiah Filla and Robert Singer. Honorary Pallbearers were Heather DeMaris, Dorothy and John Kannisto, Tom Warner, Rita Jacobson and Christina Filla.
