Jakob Ernst

Jakob Carlton Ernst, age 21, of Mounds View, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on April 27th, 2018.  He was a graduate of Irondale High School and attended Arizona State University, Barret College and Thunderbird in Arizona, studying finance, international business, and global marketing. Jakob is preceded in death by great grandfathers, Carlton Schill and Harry Ernst; greatgrandmother, Marilyn Simmons; grandfathers, Robert Simmons and Roger Ernst; uncle, Jimmy Simmons. He is survived by mother, Danielle Ernst; father, Robert Ernst; step mother, Jamie Ernst; siblings, Nikolaus and Mariah Ernst; uncles, Ryan, Chad; aunts, Jaqueline, Angel; great grandmother, Geraldine Schill; grandparents, Charles and Cherolyn Wolkerstofer, Bob and Kathy Simmons, Norma and Greg Haynes, Mike and Glenda Shaffer; many great aunts and uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to a Scholarship Fund in honor of Jakob.  This scholarship will assist low income students, who have a will and desire to learn, to continue in their education.  Education and being able to help others was very near and dear to Jakob’s heart.

A Celebration of Jakob’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota 55025.  Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 at the funeral home.
