James Armstrong

September 30, 1925 — June 26, 2012

James Junior Armstrong, age 86, of Brook Park, Minnesota, formerly Forest Lake, the son of James and Anna Armstrong, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 26, 2012. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. James was a former owner of Armstrong Nursery and Flower Shop in Sauk Centre, Minnesota and Secretary of the Stearns County Fairground. He is survived by his wife Lavella "Tula", of eight years; his children, James (Ellie) Armstrong, David (Federica) Armstrong, and Deborah Armstrong; Tula's children: Donald (Maryanne) Flesvig, Peter (Chris) Flesvig, Nancy Richter, Tom Flesvig, and Rose Mary (Dan) Dunn; Grandchildren, Michael and Isabel Armstrong, as well as many more grandchildren and great-grand children; sisters, Marcella Whitman, Margaret (George) Ahlstrom; brothers, Gerald (Charlene) Armstrong, Richard (Joanne) Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his wife Erma of 43 years; parents, James and Anna (Johnson) Armstrong; brothers, Ronald Armstrong, Kenneth Armstrong, and Tim Armstrong. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Mattson Funeral Home 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Family will greet friends 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Twitchell Cemetery, Lino Lakes, MN.
