Jean Miller

Jean Evelyn Miller, age 87, of Mounds View, formerly of Scandia, peacefully slipped into the arms of Our Lord on September 17, 2016. Jean had served as Deaconess in the Lutheran Church. She had taught 2nd grade for over thirty years. An independent woman, she loved to travel the World with her friends. She was also a member of the Mounds View Planning and Charter Commission. Preceded in death by her parents, Reuben & Adelia Miller; nephew, David Sandgren. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Peterson; niece, Kathy (Terry) Korus; great niece, Kim (Joe) Ward and their sons, Dawson and Alden; great nephew, Brandon Korus; and dear friends, Sharon Sandgren and Ed Swanson. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue 10-11 a.m., Monday at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Scandia. Memorials may be made to Elim Foundation Reuben Miller Fund or Bibles For The World.
