Jean Smith

Jean P. Smith, age 98, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died, peacefully, Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Jean was born, April 19, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander and Olga Pemenko. She lived most of her life in the Chicago area, before relocating throughout the country with her daughter and son. Jean loved traveling and most importantly being with her children and their families. Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother! She was instrumental in raising her devoted children and then assisting them in raising their own families. Her children will be forever grateful for the time, love and devotion she gave to them. She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy and ten siblings. She will be missed by her children, Linda (Dale) Blyth, Jim (Terri Houle) Smith; grandchildren, Jeremy (Miriam Schmidt) Blyth, Heather (Joshua) Moro, Aaron (Melanie Timpano) Blyth, Micah Smith, Hannah Smith; great grandchildren, Adelaide Blyth, Acadia Moro, Ursula Blyth, Reuben Blyth, Esme Blyth; loving caretakers, Dan and Shelia Waddle. A family time of celebration will be held to commemorate her life. Memorials are preferred to the family for a memorial in her honor.
