Jerry Kenneth Klemm, age 71, of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully, with his wife Judy by his side on December 18, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Jerry was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving 1965-1969. He was a staunch advocate for those living with disabilities, aiding many outreach organizations, including Midwest Outdoors Unlimited and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Jerry greatly enjoyed taking part in hunting expeditions at Camp Ripley and playing power wheelchair soccer. He was also a member of the American Radio Relay League. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elvira. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Judy; their children, Villery, Troy (Stephanie), and Amy; grandchildren, Cassidy, Ashlynn, Malachi, Nehum; brother, James; many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be 2 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering of family and friends 1 PM until the time of service. Private family interment at Faith Lutheran Memorial Prayer Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midwest Outdoor Unlimited or for a scholarship for a veteran to attend a Healing Memories retreat at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center (Veteran PTSD Program).
