Jess Buske

The Lord wrapped his arms around Jess Buske, age 56 of Linwood Township, Minnesota, on January 2, 2014 and took him to Heaven. Jess was a proud family man above all, spending quality time with his family and friends whenever possible. His passions also included fishing, poker, hunting, and traveling. Jess loved the great outdoors, spending many hours enjoying his property on Big Sandy Lake in McGregor, MN. His favorite pastime was spending the days on his boat, catching many walleye and pan fish. His warm friendliness cannot be overstated; Jess would hold a conversation with a stranger as well as an old friend. He would make anyone feel at home with a witty joke and a quick wink. This past spring, Jess beat out hundreds of competitors to become a state poker champion and win a trip to Las Vegas to participate in the 2013 World Series of Poker.Music was a large part of who Jess was; many memories were made while listening to a wide variety of special songs. He also spent many Sundays cheering on the Minnesota Vikings with his family and friends adorned in purple. Jess was loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to be touched by his gentle kindness, his infectious smile, and his warm embrace. Jess also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jess is preceded in death by his father, Jack. He will be dearly missed by his loving family including his wife, Michelle; children, Skylar, Lacea (Mark Stoltz); grand-puppy, Cricket; mother, Rose; siblings, Terry (Dan) Alsaker, Jody (Carol) Buske, Todd (Jennifer) Buske; nieces, nephews, family & friends near and far. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 31075 Genesis Avenue, Stacy. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m., until the time of service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the family. Jess loved to live life to the fullest and enjoyed dressing casual, the family encourages you to attend the celebration wearing the same.
