Joan Houle

Joan Houle, beloved Mom, G’ma, and Great Grandmother, age 91 of Forest Lake, Minnesota passed over peacefully on April 18, 2009 surrounded by her family. Joan and Willard were joined in holy matrimony on September 18, 1941 and are now together eternally. Preceded in death by:  sister, Delores Kunshier; brother, Jean “Peachy ” Bernier and Grandson, Tony Houle. Survived by sons, Jim (Sherri), Gary (Julie), Jeff (Cindy), Greg (Debbie); daughter, Mary (Lyle) Koski; 16 grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; brother, Frances “Duke” (Marge) Bernier; sister, Audrey Tompkins; sister-in-law, June Patrin; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake with prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 – 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Catholic Church Adoration Chapel.
