Joan Marie Thistlewood

Joan Marie (nee Klein) Thistlewood entered her heavenly rest on October 18, 2024. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on March 31st,1929, the eldest of 9 children born to Ruth (Hemming) Klein and Frank Klein. 

She was a legal secretary for the law firm of Stringer, Donnelly and Sharood for many years.

In 1960 she married Donald William Thistlewood and together they owned and operated assisted living homes which they loved. They were happily married 56 years and loved traveling, dancing, cards, fishing and WALKING. 

They remained healthy and active into their 90’s when they moved to Cherrywood Pointe/Amira Choice in 2016. They were so blessed by the dear friends and wonderful staff that they were privileged to know there.

They will be missed by their surviving children Darlene, Joy and Kathy (Fel) and their families and her youngest sister Susie.

Preceded in death by her husband Don and her siblings Tish, Jean, Bud, Kathy, Jack, Judy, and Michael and her son-in-law Jimmy.

Please join the family to celebrate Joan's life from 3:00-5:00 PM, on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Ave.
