John Manning

John "Jack" Kenneth Manning, Major U.S.A.F., Retired, Age 80, of East Bethel, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on November 13, 2015. John was Career military and a Bronze Star recipient. Upon his honorable discharge, he went on to work for Target Corp. A very active man, John loved golfing, cooking, sailing, sewing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis & Irene; brothers, Francis "Chuck", Vernon, Ronald. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy; children, John (Tia), Elizabeth (Bill) McCusker, Mike (Britta), Jennifer, Lisa (Richard) Wagenknecht; grandchildren, Erica May, John Bee, Michelle, Louis, Merrick, Klara, Irene, Elsa, Phillip, Anthony, Andrea; great grandchildren, Santanna, Olivia, Alex, Layla; sister-in-law, Debbie Fredsall; and beloved dogs, Harley and Charley. Funeral Service 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Family interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
