Joseph Gerlach, Sr

Joseph Jerome Gerlach, Sr., age 81, of Forest Lake Born June 22, 1934 in St. Paul and passed away Nov. 21, 2015 in St. Paul. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Emily; siblings, Frank, Jerry, Bill, Anne, and Jean. He is survived by his wife, Albena "Beanie"; children, Joe Jr. (Lisa), Steve (Vicky); grandchildren, Josh, Cortney, Faylan, Samantha (Ryan), Chris, Nick, Tony, Danielle; great grandson, Riley. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving 1958-1962. He was a Production Mechanic for American National Can for 40 years. Joe enjoyed fixing cars, trucks and boats, as well as remodeling the family cabin into a year round home (several times). He could fix almost anything. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 2-5 p.m., Sunday and 9-10 a.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
