Judith M. Ensrud

Judith Marlene Ensrud, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud, Minnesota after a brief illness with hospitalization and surgical complications. Judy was born on September 26, 1939 in Chisago City, Minnesota to William and Evelyn Brooks. Upon graduating from high school, she worked as a nanny for families on Summit Ave in St. Paul who treated her as one of their own. Judy met David P. Ensrud on a blind date at age 18 and they were married on April 12, 1958. Together they raised three children in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Judy was a member of the Forest Lake Garden Club, she loved to travel and she and Dave sang in the Faith Lutheran church choir for many years. Judy worked for the Forest Lake School District managing payroll and investment funds for 32.5 years. Judy moved to Talamore Senior Living in St. Cloud, Minnesota in May, 2021 where she has made many wonderful friends. Always the optimist, she would excitedly tell us how busy she was and how much fun they have with activities. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and laugh.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son and four siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Rick) of St. Cloud, Minnesota, her daughter, Linda (Jeff) of Perham, Minnesota, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with another on the way very soon. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Interment will be at Fort Snelling together with her husband. There will be a private family gathering for remembrance at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Quiet Oaks Hospice House for the extraordinary ministry they provide to both patients and families alike.
