Karen M. King, age 58, of Scandia, Minnesota, died, Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Regions Hospital following a sudden and unexpected illness. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. Karen worked as a customer service manager for Ecolab for over 36 years. The time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren brought the most joy to her life. She could also be found working on a multitude of crafts, tending to her flower gardens, enjoying their home on the lake, building puzzles or out antiquing. She is preceded in death by her father, Roger King. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her including her “living in sin partner forever”, Joe Ackerman; children, Ben (Lauren) Edstrom, Charlie (Bobbie Murphy) Torrez, Josh (Debbie) Ackerman; grandchildren, Luke Ackerman, Jack Edstrom, Kaleb Torrez, Kadence Torrez, Taya Ellingworth, Dylan Murphy; great-grandchildren, Callaghan McDonald, Addylan Murphy; mother, Jean (Randy) Edstrom; siblings, Kenny King, Kris King, Kelly (Jeff Johnson) King, Karl (Tracy) King; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the United Way or Bridging. If you would prefer to send a floral tribute; the family would request a live plant, which will be shared with others in memory of Karen.
