Kathleen Kay Isaacson, a cherished and devoted mother, and nana, peacefully passed away at the age of 84 on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Kathleen was born on April 19, 1940, to her parents Orlo and Maxine Hursh. She took pride in her education, graduating from Forest Lake High School in the esteemed Class of 1958.
After marrying her high school sweetheart, Wayne Erickson, Kathleen ventured into the journey of motherhood creating a home and raising their family in Scandia, Minnesota. Their life was filled with shared passions, including snowmobiling, card club, motorcycle rides, golf outings, bowling tournaments, and summer weekends spent at softball games. Kathy was often called upon to be a Gopher for the family-owned business Erickson’s Garage. She was also proud to have been on the original committee for Taco Daze community fund raiser.
After Wayne's passing in 1992, Kathleen later found love again with Lowell Isaacson. Together, they indulged in fishing escapades, travel adventures, and countless games of cards before Lowell's passing.
In her later years, after moving back to Forest Lake, she continued the tradition of an open invitation to Saturday morning coffee with her famous Carmel rolls. Many great conversations & hearty laughter would be shared then.
Although Kathleen has departed from this life, her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Melin, Rebecca (Bob) Lehner, Lynette (Jeff) Fusco, Linda (Tom) Capra, 12 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she shared a special bond with. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wayne Erickson, Lowell Isaacson; siblings, Joel Hursh, Jim Hursh, Karen Houle.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, May 17 at the American Legion Post 225 Forest Lake Minnesota. Interment at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18 Scandia Elim South Cemetery.
