Kathleen Kaake

Kathleen Kaake(Johnson), Age 65, formerly of Superior, died on May 17, 2011, while surrounded by her family. A nurturer in her heart and by trade, Kathy had been an LPN at the former Surf & Sand Nursing Home in Duluth. Kathy was a loving and caring woman who gave of herself to everyone, especially her family. She never met a stranger, rather, she befriended everyone she met. Kathy leaves behind to mourn her loss; Roger, her loving husband of 42 years; daughter Meredith (John) Mongare; son Wesley (partner Cody Allen); foster son Alex Scott; granddaughters, Amani and Zuri Mongare; sister Maryann (Melvin) Johnson; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Mary (Pahula) Johnson, Sr.; and three brothers. A service to honor her life will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In the spirit of Kathy's life, her family requests that you wear bright colors. A celebration in her honor will follow the service at the home of her daughter.
