Kyle Raarup

Kyle Patrick Raarup, age 20, of Wyoming. Kyle struggled with mental illness for several years, resulting from multiple concussions. On November 12, 2015, he lost his battle by taking his life. Kyle was a sophomore at the University of Northern Iowa, studying business marketing. He loved the school, his friends, and the strong support group that surrounded him. He was a sports fanatic; playing, watching, and tracking many teams. He favored the Yankees and Fighting Irish. Kyle always had a smile, showcasing his dimple. He was always looking for answers to why his brain functioned the way it did. To honor him, his brain was donated to the Boston University Brain Bank for the research of concussion injuries in youth. He will never be forgotten. He leaves behind his parents, Mike & Beth; sister, Kayla; brother, Tyler; grandparents, Jon & Mary Bellgowan, Ed & Diana Raarup; beloved dogs, Bentley and Buster; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral Service 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 2-5 p.m. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stomp Out Suicide.
