Llewellyn Russell "Louie" Flermoen, died at his home in Forest Lake on Dec. 18, 2011. He was 83. Louie was born in 1928 in Saint Paul, Mn. As a small child, he moved with his family to Winger, MN. He graduated from Win E Mac High School, which is where he met his wife, Shirley. Louie served in the Navy as a flight radio operator. He worked as a truck driver for most of his adult life. He and his family moved to Forest Lake in 1968, where they continued to reside. Louie was also a member of the American Legion in Forest Lake, served as Commander, Finance Officer and declared member for life, and once Grand Marshall of the Forest Lake 4th of July Parade. Louie enjoyed cards, road trips, hunting and fishing, but mostly he loved being with his family, immediate and extended. Louie is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Shirley; son, Clyde; daughters, Angie (Steve)Blaisdell, Tracey (Bill)Bowman; four grandchildren; three great grandsons; and many members of his close knit family; also many good friends. Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 5-7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery.
