Logan Grant Jr

Logan Arthur Grant Jr., age 87 of Waterloo, Iowa; formerly of Wyoming, Minnesota, died peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Logan was born June 16, 1929 in Anoka County, Minnesota the son of Logan Arthur Sr. and Nelly (Jefferson) Grant. He graduated from Forest Lake High School and the University of Minnesota before starting his career as a teacher. He taught in International Falls, Forest Lake and St. Paul for several years before starting his second career. He owned and operated Metro Archery in Blaine, Minnesota for over 15 years. In his free time, he was in archery instructor for Anoka County Community Education for many years. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Hemenway Gardner on November 15, 2002. Together, they made their home in Wyoming, Minnesota until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer 's disease and his health began to decline. At that time, they moved to Waterloo, Iowa to be closer to family. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Colleen; brother, John Grant (a casualty of WWII); step-son-in-law, Phil Barnier. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Jay (Kelly); step-children, Keith (Deb) Gatzow, Connie (Chuck) Belland, Cindy Barnier; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Julia Jacobson; JoAnn's children, Carrie, Ray, Tim, Robert, Pat, Jeff; other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 5459 E Viking Blvd., Wyoming. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Linwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family.
