Lois Barrett

Lois Ann (Cogger) Barrett, age 53 of Circle Pines, passed away peacefully February 17, 2016 at home with her daughters by her side. Lois was born May 7, 1962 to Vernon and Doris Cogger, the fifth of six children. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1980. After working at various jobs, she found her place at Mate Precision Tooling where she worked for over twenty years. She was very involved at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle Pines for many years, and her daughter's different sports and activities. She also participated in a number of extracurricular activities, including a stint in amateur water aerobics. She spread joy and cheer wherever she went, and had an infectious laugh you could never forget. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sibling, and friend who will be dearly missed and always loved. Preceded in death by mother, Doris, and father, Vernon; sister, Kathy; great-niece, Samantha; aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends. Survived by daughters, Jennifer and Amanda; son-in-law, Craig; grandchildren, Gabriel, Layla, and Elliette; sister, Gloria (Stan); brother, David (Julie); sister, Linda (Steve); sister, Nancy (Greg); many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Lois fought valiantly in this war against cancer: it didn't defeat her spirit, it didn't take her smile, and it most certainly did not destroy her love. "Some people come into our lives, make footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same." Each of us who has been lucky enough to have our lives touched by her knows just how special that touch truly is. She has left a mark on each of us that we will all carry through our own battles. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 9185 Lexington Avenue North, Circle Pines. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lino Lakes.
