Lorraine Harmon

June 13, 1930 — May 8, 2015

Lorraine Mae Harmon was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 1, 1930. From the time she was a child she was fascinated by show business, and she dreamed of being the next Shirley Temple. Her childhood was filled with adventures like traveling with her brother on a train cross-country, to moving with her family to Seattle when she was 11. It was in Seattle while in Junior High School that she met Gerald ("Jerry"), who declared at the age of 14 that he was going to marry her someday. True to his word, Lorraine and Jerry were wed in 1948, and were married until Jerry passed away in 2005. Following his death, Lorraine's constant companion was her dog Booker, a rescue dog who came into her life prior to Jerry's passing. Lorraine loved to travel, and was able to do so extensively over her life, visiting 49 of the 50 United States and 12 countries. In 2014 she and Booker traveled to Michigan with her son Dan, and also spent a long weekend on the North Shore. Lorraine passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015 with her daughter Terri and son-in-law Denny by her side. Lorraine was preceded in death by husband Jerry, parents Clara and Art Skeates, brother Art Jr., and Booker. Lorraine leaves behind her children Rick (Dorothy), Terri (Denny), and Dan; grandchildren Eric, Jason, Natalie, Nik and Ben; and nine Great grandchildren. Lorraine always had a twinkle in her eye, and brought a smile to all those she met. She was a wonderful mom, and she will be missed terribly.
