Lorraine Lang

Lorraine M. Lang, age 87, of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 22, 2013. Lorraine was born on February 22, 1926, in St. Paul, Minnesota to her parents, Harvey and Martha Boyd. Her family moved to Lexington, Minnesota when Lorraine was ten years old. She attended District 48 Country School, where in the fourth grade Lorraine met her future husband, Richard. Lorraine and Richard were married on June 7, 1947. They were married for 67 years. Together they raised four children, Nancy, Sherry, Darlene and Ronald and now have nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Lorraine and Richard moved to Forest Lake in 1967. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Darlene Gogerty and her sister, Marjorie Hartung. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her two daughters, Nancy (Clay) Zimmerman and Sherry (Myron) Organ; her son, Ronald (Bonnie) Lang; nine grandchildren, Tami, Amy, Troy, Chad, Kelly, Matt, Jody, Cory, Kyle; step granddaughters, Amber and Melissa; thirteen great grandchildren, Masen V., Mason H., Larayna, Makayla, Jaise, Brinkley, Tyler, Kendall, Anna, Allie, Thomas, Tyler G. and Kaylee; one sister and one brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
