Lucy Beckman

Lucy B. Beckman, age 98 of East Bethel passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Lucy was born August 8, 1911 in Linwood Township, Minnesota, the youngest of nine children born to Douglas and Mary Ann (Grant) Ruffcorn. The Ruffcorn and Grant families were two of the early settlers in the Linwood area. Lucy graduated from Anoka High School in 1931. She was united in marriage to Walter A. Beckman in 1936, to this union four children were born. Lucy retired from Northwestern National Life Insurance after many years of faithful service. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter; three brothers; five sisters; son Walter Douglas Beckman; grandson Duane Beckman; sons-in-law Brad Schwartz, Gary Sink; daughter-in-law Rita (Meis) Beckman. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family including her daughters, Bessie (Pat) Kenney, Glenda (Don) Fradenburgh, Esther Sink; daughter-in-law Marge Beckman; twelve grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Linwood Township Cemetery.
