Marian Tuominen

Marian Carol (Olson) Tuominen passed away on June 6, 2017 at Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, MN at 84 years of age. She was born in Center City, MN on August 12, 1932 to parents Mamie and Russel Olson. She had 4 siblings, grew up in Shafer, MN, attended Shafer School, then Chi-Hi high school in Lindstrom. Marian married Jerry Tuominen in 1949, had 3 daughters, lived in Shafer, MN eventually moving to Forest Lake. Marian worked as a secretary at Forest Lake High School until her retirement. Marian loved attending her children and grandchildren's sports and activities. She enjoyed everything Swedish – active in Ki Chi Saga club- Swedish dancing and events. With Jerry she traveled to Sweden many times. She was preceded in death by spouse, Jerry; her parents; daughter Roxan Wilkins of Seattle, WA; brother Leroy (Alta) Olson, sister Ardell (Dale) Hulett; sister Jean (John) Edwards, sister Pauline Bullard; son-in-law Peter Nelson; niece Candace Ouellette; nephew Dean Edwards. Marian is survived by daughters Debra Nelson of Lindstrom, Jan (Roger) Kolbow of Forest Lake; son-in-law David Wilkins of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law Allen (Eileen) Tuominen of Forest Lake. Grandchildren – Chad (Tara) Nelson, Bryan (Angie Hammond) Nelson; Jared (Melissa) Kolbow, Gretchen (Joe) Kunshier, Jordan (Ashleigh) Kolbow, Brent (Samantha) Kolbow; Shamsa Wilkins, Jamahl Wilkins, Jalonn Wilkins. Great grandchildren – Jackson and Ally Nelson, Joe (Nicki) Jungmann; Shacore and Kwayera Phillips; Maija Kunshier; Liam and Waylon Kolbow; Brekken, Finnian, Lochlan and Rolland Kolbow; Wells Kolbow. Great great grandchildren - Charlotte Jungmann; Zayveon Phillips; many nieces and nephews. Marian is much loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
