Maribeth Calkins

Maribeth Anne Calkins was born August 1, 1943 in Buffalo, New York to Wilbert and Anne (Kowalchek) Stroh. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and attended business school. She married David Calkins in 1964 and together they had three children.
Maribeth was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and coordinating special family events. She moved to Minnesota in 2002. She especially loved her grandchildren (8 soon to be 9!). One of her favorite things in life was spoil her grandchildren, load them up with sugar and send them home to their parents!
The final of chapter of Maribeth’s life was spent at Norris Square where she met many new friends and continued to grow in her faith and love of community. She always wanted to make people happy—she will surely be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Norris Square Presbyterian Homes, 8200 Hadley Avenue South, Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
Maribeth left us on May 15, 2010 while surrounded by her three loving children to be with her heavenly father. She is preceded in death by her parents. She will be dearly missed by her children, JoAnne (James) Amaral, Jeffrey (Sherry) Calkins, James (Gloria) Calkins; grandchildren, Jaymie Marie Amaral, Janine Margaret Amaral, Julie Anne Amaral, Rebekah Lynn Calkins, Gary David Calkins, Summer Nicole Calkins, Christian James Calkins, Ethan Matthew Calkins; brother Michael (Kitty) Stroh.
