Marlys Anne Walker

Marlys Walker, age 90, of Wyoming, MN, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna Patet, brother, Richard Patet; George Walker, and Cheryl Gackstetter.

Marlys will be lovingly remembered by her children, Julie (Dave Douglas) Lucking, Wayne Rhoades Jr., Deanna Schnedecker, and Jeff (Cathy) Walker; grandchildren, Amy (Nathan) Koska, Shawn Lindl, Steve (Stephanie) Lucking, Geoffrey Douglas, Wayne (Christy) Rhoades III, Jonathan (Annie) Rhoades, Amy (Josh) Kennedy, Adam Feit, Heidi Feit, Ian Walker, Colby (Annika) Walker; and many great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Shirley Patet; niece, Kim (Don) Anderson; nephew Scott (Aimee) Patet; beloved dog, Bella Blu; numerous other family members and dear friends.

Marlys was a woman of great strength and character. She was a dedicated mother who always put her children first, a dependable presence in their lives, and a faithful member of her church. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as doing puzzles and spending time with her beloved dogs.

In her younger years, Marlys had a love for speed, racing figure-8 cars with a passion. Although she embraced the thrill of the track, she was always responsible and followed traffic laws when not behind the wheel of a race car.

Marlys' work ethic was unmatched, and her love for family, church, and life left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM, at the funeral home. Following a luncheon there will be a burial at Union Cemetery in Maplewood.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Northwoods Humane Society in Forest Lake, a cause close to her heart due to her deep love for animals.
