Mary Dohmen

Mary "Oma" Dohmen, age 81, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Friday, August 15, 2014. Mary was born and raised in the Netherlands, where she met and was united in marriage to her beloved Leo. They moved to America in January 1957 where they raised their family. Oma was an amazing woman, who lived for her family; caring for, cooking and creating memories that will last a lifetime! She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise; brothers, Hubert and Michael. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her including her devoted husband of 58 years, Leo "Opa"; sons, Cornelius (Leilani), Joseph (Rachel), John (fiancée Teri); grandchildren, Rachel (DJ) Frank, Megan (fiancé Nick Willcoxen) Dohmen, Nicole Dohmen, Brett Dohmen, Stuart Dohmen; great-grandchild, Lyric Frank; special niece, Ann Marie (Steve) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
