MaryAnn R. Pavel, a compassionate and devoted homemaker, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 84, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born on April 1, 1939, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, MaryAnn was the beloved daughter of Hugo and Magdalyn Blackfelner.
MaryAnn's journey through life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family. After graduating from Our Lady of Peace High School in 1957, she met the love of her life, Robert Pavel Sr, while he was serving in the United States Navy. Their love story endured as they corresponded for two years before finally exchanging vows on January 21, 1961, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Together, MaryAnn and Robert built a life filled with joy, love, and cherished memories. They resided in Saint Paul before settling on a peaceful acreage in Stillwater. Later, they embarked on a new chapter, spending thirteen wonderful years in Florida before ultimately returning to Minnesota, where they chose Forest Lake as their final home in 2016.
MaryAnn embraced homemaking wholeheartedly, finding joy in nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving environment. Her talents extended beyond the household, and she delighted in hobbies such as bowling, sewing, building puzzles, and passionately supporting her beloved Minnesota Twins.
Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of many. MaryAnn will forever be cherished by her adoring spouse of 63 years, Robert Pavel Sr. She was a loving and devoted mother to Gina Compton, Ellen Langer, Colleen (Ron) McKeehen, and Patrick (Jodi) Pavel. MaryAnn's legacy also lives on through her thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who were blessed to experience the love and care she bestowed upon them.
MaryAnn is predeceased by her parents Hugo and Magdalyn Blackfelner Sr. and her grandson, Baby Eddie; brother, Hugo Blackfelner Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Accent Care Hospice.
In this time of mourning, may we find solace in the cherished memories of MaryAnn, as she leaves an indelible mark on our hearts. Let us remember her as a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. May she rest in eternal peace.
