Mary Ellen Berggren

Mary Ellen J. Berggren (Hapka) died suddenly on April 26, 2019 at age 76, after a brief illness. Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Gale); twin sons, Bradley and Scott; parents, Chester and Ella Hapka; brother, Don Hapka.  Survived by loving children, Kimberly (Paul Hasse), Philip (Lisa Szulga), Randy; grandson, Michael; fun-loving cat, “Tiggers”; sister-in-law, Darlene Hapka; brothers, Chet (Judy) Hapka, and Duane Hapka; several nieces and nephews.  Mary Ellen devoted her life to caring for her husband and the nurturing of her children.  She enjoyed working in her gardens every year and flower arranging.

A Celebration of Mary Ellen's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  The family will be greeting friends an hour and a half prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery.
