Melissa Peterson

Melissa Peterson, 37, died unexpectedly on Monday October 21, 2019 at her home in Isanti, Minnesota; where she lived with her husband, Keith and boys, Jack and Daniel Hayes.  Melissa recently graduated from nursing school in May, passing her nursing boards in June. She officially started as a nurse in July at Mercy Hospital. Melissa was a hard worker, going to school full time during the day and working overnights as a CNA to help with bills. She also found time to volunteer at school with the boys’ field trips and school activities. Sleep was not her priority. She did not have much time for hobbies, all her time was spent at school, work or with her children and husband.  Melissa is survived by her husband, Keith Peterson; children, daughter, Faith Milon (20), son, Jack (11), son, Billy (10), son, Daniel (9), and daughter, Jillian (7) Hayes; step-children, Ashley (29) and Amber (28) Peterson; grandchildren, Brooklyn (7) and Isabella (2); parents, Craig Midgley, of Hopkins, Minnesota, Sandra Denbrook of Fergus Falls Minnesota; sister, Karissa (James) Isakson; nephew, Cory Ringwelski (25),  nieces, Allyson (13) and Amanda (11) Isakson; grandfather, Roland Midgley of Burtrum Minnesota; uncle, Rick (Lisa) Midgley of Bloomington, Minnesota, aunt, Kimberly (Kerry) Brown of California; numerous extended family and loving friends.  She is preceeded in death by her paternal grandmother, Shirley Midgley, aunt, Belinda, uncle, Richard and both maternal grandparents, Evangeline and Virgil Snow.  Melissa was a wonderful, caring person. She cannot be replaced and will be missed greatly!

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
