Melissa Dee "Missy" Thompson
Melissa "Missy" Thompson, 68, of Chisago City, MN, died Feb. 22, 2023, at Fairview-University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
She was born April 14, 1954, in Rice Lake, WI, to Gene and Edwin Thompson and was raised in Dallas, WI, before moving to Hoyt Lakes, MN.
Missy married Ed Hustad on Aug. 28, 2000, in Maui, Hawaii. They lived in Chisago City with their beloved pets.
After high school, Missy was one of the first females to work in the mines of northern Minnesota. Later she was a longtime travel agent for Dayton's Travel before joining Target's corporate offices as an HR rep; she retired in 2014. She loved watching Hallmark movies and NASCAR races, listening to country music, doing word-search puzzles, and cuddling with their dogs.
Her husband lovingly referred to her as "a tough Iron Range chick."
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Wendy Janzen and Char Osborne.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Hustad, of Chisago City; stepdaughters Terri Lee (Bob) Paulsen of Waconia and Lori Jo Hustad of Stillwater; brother Kevin (Ana) Thompson of Fayal Township; sister Debra Suomala of North Branch; granddaughters Sydney, Logan, and Quinn Paulsen of Waconia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services 11am Friday, March 3, at Mattson Funeral Home, Forest Lake, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville, at 1:30pm.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to your favorite charity in Missy's name.
