Michael Wilde

Michael P. Wilde passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the age of 52 after a valiant battle with gastric cancer. He will be remembered for his passion for music, fishing, woodworking, and electronics, but his love of family and friends was his biggest attribute. He loved without limits and was always the one to initiate family get-togethers for holidays or special occasions. He spent countless hours on Coon Lake boating and fishing, but jumped at the chance to road-trip to a new part of the country on a family vacation. His "Honey Bunny" of 23 years (married for 22) and his two daughters were his greatest source of pride and love, and he excelled as a father. In his time here he was the owner/operator of a DJ company called Advanced Sound & Light, and a video production company called Wildekat Productions. Both businesses fed his passions and gave him the opportunity to spend more time at home with family. Many of his clients became his friends. He was just that kind of man; honest, fair, respectful, and enthusiastic about what he did. He was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Kyra and Ava; parents, Richard & Lois Wilde; brother, Jeff (Karla) Wilde; sister, Linda (Tom) Beatson; brother-in-law, Doug (Lorena) Slipka; sister-in-law, Gina (Tony) Marinos; and nieces & nephews, Mike, Dan, Laura, Paul, Sopheia, Andrea, Bella, Izzaiah, baby Marinos, Caleb, and Carter. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, Nov 26th at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. A gathering will be held from 1-2:30 p.m., with a Christian Service starting at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a donation in his name to the U of M Cancer Clinic at the Fairview Lakes Wyoming Hospital (payable to Fairview Foundation). This will help to supply gift cards for food, fuel, or whatever patients are in need of as they navigate through their journey.
