Mildred “Millie” Elaine Lauer, age 76, of Big Lake, MN, formerly of Perham, MN, went to her heavenly home on January 29, 2024.
Millie was born on October 28, 1947, in Rush City, MN to James and Tillie Caroon. She graduated from Pine City High School.
On April 6, 1968 she married Delbert “Del” Lauer and they made their home in Mora, MN until 1974, when they moved back to Pine City.
When not working she loved to travel. She went everywhere: China, Alaska, and Hawaii, just to list a few. She also loved spending her time reading books, completing puzzles and watching movies. Millie was devoted to her family. She loved to go camping with her grandkids and watch them play ball. She was an animal lover and it seemed as if animals knew she was their friend.
She was a devoted member of the Woman’s Auxiliary at the VFW Post 4020 in Perham, MN.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Del; and brothers, Clarence and Bernard.
She is survived by son, Vernon (Lorie); grandsons, Josh and Jesse; her daughter, Melissa (John) Witt; granddaughter, Clara; step-grandson, Dylan; brother, Leo (Luella) Caroon; sisters-in-law, Ella Caroon, Marlys Caroon; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at The Camp Ripley Memorial Chapel (Bldg 10-98), 15000 Highway 115, Little Falls, MN. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Memorials preferred to the family who will be making donations to Veterans Organizations.
