Morris XVII

Morris "Skip" Humphreys XVII, age 73, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Stacy, Minnesota, died surrounded by his family on March 29, 2011, following a short, brave battle with brain cancer. Skip proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the St. Paul Fire Department after 26 years of service. Skip was a member of the Forest Lake Masonic Lodge 344 and the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Davis Humphreys XVI and Amelia Humphreys; grandson, Joshua Jacob Humphreys; brothers, Keith and Jim Shafer. He will be dearly missed by his children, Sheryl Stafford, Pamela Chenevert and her husband Jeff, Morris "Dave" Humphreys XVIII and his wife Anita; seven grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; sisters, Jane (Ken) LaCroix, Gwen (Dave) Mastell, Gladys Sue James; other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011 at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd. Forest Lake. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota.
