Nance Seip-Scianna

September 28, 1957 — October 6, 2012

Nance Jo Seip-Scianna of Forest Lake, MN died peacefully with her family on October 06th, 2012 after a long heart-wrenching battle of small cell carcinoma. Nance was born September 28, 1957 in Minneapolis, MN. She is the youngest of two born to Robert and Elaine Seip, who settled their family in Braham, Minnesota. While growing up, Nance attended and graduated from Westview High School in 1975, located in Braham. She graduated not only as an honor student, but as an athlete as well. She played softball and basketball, and even made it to state her senior year. After high school Nance continued her education at Anoka Ramsey with the intentions of a financial degree. She experienced many different career fields, but her passion and expertise resided with Sungard, as the Senior Conversion Manager, where she spent the past fifteen years. According to Nance she was, "Damn good at her job!" (Which all of her co-workers, would agree.) Nance was an infectious person through and through. She instilled within others the value of family, honesty, respect and value for hard work; values, that she hoped were passed on to her family and friends. Nance lived for her family; making her mother, nieces, and nephews her top priority, they were her life. If it wasn't time spent with her family, it was times spent with her friends; snowmobiling up north, traveling to different countries, hot air balloon fiestas, fishing, or just a barbeque in the back yard. Simply making unforgettable connections that would last a lifetime. In the early 2000's while working at Sungard Nance met Tony Scianna where the two became fast friends. Little did she know she'd met the love of her life; someone she could share many common interests with. Nance and Tony were truly a match made in heaven. Nance was the only woman Tony had ever met who liked single malt scotch, one of his favorite drinks, and shared his love of music, in particular the blues. Annually they would attend a Blues Cruise and they even traveled to London to see Cream. But London wasn't their last stop in their travels. Very often the two would travel to Aruba, one of their favorite places, along with many other beautiful places such as Prague, Italy, and Mexico. Even after years of dating, the two spent hours on the phone, calling each other multiple times a day even if it was just to say hello and how much they loved each other. In September of 2012 the two were married, though they'd never needed the formality of a ring and a ceremony to say they were family. Nance is survived by her husband Tony Scianna, nephews Robert and Eric, nieces Gina and Danielle along with her stepdaughters Renee, Jennifer and Talia; her grandchildren Franklin, Marcus, and Frances; and great nieces and nephews, Alexander, Conner, Kyah, Evan, Ember.
