Nicholas James Stephan died April 4, 2014. His passing was both shocking and tragic to those who knew and loved him. He was a source of energy and inspiration to everyone he touched. His growth into a terrific young man was a great joy for his family and friends. He will be missed as son, brother, uncle, family member and friend to those he knew and loved. Nick graduated from Centennial High School in 2010 and was currently a Senior at Mankato State University studying Environmental Science. He was about to start an internship with the DNR as a fisheries biologist and was so excited about this opportunity. Nick loved life; he cared about people and was a huge advocate for the environment. Nick was known for his spontaneous spirit, his smile and laughter were contagious. Nick was passionate about all the outdoors; snowboarding, water skiing, hunting, fishing, canoeing, riding his motorcycle and loved a good bonfire. He is survived by parents, Rob & Kim Stephan; grand-parents, Ron & Dianna Gardner; brother, David Stephan (Kristi); niece, Camille; nephew, James; uncles, Bruce Stephan and Kevin Gardner (Laurie); cousins, Brandon Stephan, Kyle Gardner and Justin Gardner, and so very many wonderful friends. Nick's memory will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Saturday APRIL 26, 2014 at Willowbrook Community Church, 840 South Lake Street, Forest Lake. Visitation will be two hours prior. Following the service, internment will be at Panola Cemetery in Franconia Township.
