Norma Carlson

Norma E. Carlson, age 86, of Chisago City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2013. Norma was born on August 7, 1927 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Claude and Gertrude Beyea. Norma was preceded in death by her sisters, Myrl Beish and Carol Beyea and her son, Marc Joseph Shampo. Norma is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Lloyd "Lanny") Nelson; her brothers, C. Kenneth (Loris) Beyea and Wayne (Kathleen) Beyea; her grandchildren, Andrew (Lisa) Nelson, Rachel (Brett) Curtis and Heather (Michael) Weinreich and her great grandchildren, Dylan Andrews, Alexis Curtis, Faith Curtis, Johnathan Nelson and Charlotte Nelson. Norma resided in Rochester, Minnesota for many years and was employed by the Rochester Police Department for 20 years. She was involved in volunteer work, including Girl Scouts, church and Rochester Methodist Hospital. Norma enjoyed reading, cats and puzzles. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2013 at St. Bridget of Sweden, 13060 Lake Boulevard, Lindstrom. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, continuing Monday one hour prior to service at church. Interment at Kahbakong Cemetery, Taylors Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to family.
