Norman Ostrand

Norman B. Ostrand, age 78 of Scandia, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 while surrounded by his family. Norman was a lifetime member of Elim Lutheran Church, The Scandia-Marine Lions Club and a 50 year Bricklayers and Stone Mason Union member. He managed the Scandia-Marine Food Shelf for many years. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Harland Gabrielson; niece, Linda Gabrielson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marlys; children, MaryBeth (Mike) Jensen; Peter (Darla), John (Krista); granddaughters, Megan, Nicole, Emily, Natalie Ostrand; other extended family and many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2011 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Elim Lutheran Church General Fund.
