Patti Watterson

Patti Anna Watterson, age 60, of Linwood, passed with peace surrounded by her family on February 1, 2015. Patti was born on January 29, 1955 to Valentine and Matilda (Buchholz) Jakubek in Cook, Minnesota. She was raised in Duluth where she met and married Roy Watterson. In the mid-70's they moved to the Iron Range where Patti was one of the first women to work at LTV Steel, Erie Mining Company. She and Roy later moved to Wyoming, Minnesota, where they raised their three children. Patti enjoyed a great many successes professionally during her career in Cardiac Rhythm Management. She loved the outdoors, gardening, crafts-especially crocheting, and her day trips to the casino. She was an avid football fan, always rooting for the Vikings. But her greatest joy was being Cole and Connor's Grammy. She will always be remembered as an amazing woman, loving mother and grandmother, whose greatest passion was helping others. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine & Matilda Jakubek; and daughter, Nicole Watterson. Patti is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Wedebrand; son, Zach Watterson; grandsons, Cole and Connor Wedebrand; sisters, Becky Jakubek, Sandy (Dale) Ames; former husband and good friend, Roy Watterson. Celebration of Patti's Life will be held 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering of family and friends 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for a memorial garden in Patti's memory.
