Paul Charles Olson
3/21/1938- 11/3/2022
Age 84, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Cerenity Care Center, White Bear Lake, Mn.
He is survived by children, David Fowler, Danny (Andrea) Fowler, Elizabeth Fowler, Cindy (Nelson) Koyl, Ricky Fowler, Lynne (Tim) Larson, Sandie (Chuck) Weitemier; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by Joanne, his wife of 51 years, parents, 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Paul was born and raised in Hector, Mn. He married the love of his life September 20, 1969.
They lived in Minnesota until 1979 then settled in Colorado where they were very involved in their church and loved to entertain friends. They had many adventures; hiking and camping in the mountains. He enjoyed fly fishing in beautiful mountain streams and lakes and would spend hours tying new flies to catch trout.
Paul always had an amazing sense of humor and you could always see a twinkle in those blue eye when he was up to something... and then hear that laugh after.
He loved his family deeply and found so much joy when they came to visit so he could take them to see all the sights in beautiful Colorado. He was always up to a card game -and always seemed to win.
He adored his grandchildren and they all have had a ride on his knees with him bouncing and singing trot little pony while they giggled and tugged at his white beard.
When he retired in 2002, they moved to Sun City, Arizona to enjoy the warm sunshine, fruit trees and showing family around the beautiful state. He also got his “dream job” working at the stadium so he could watch all the football games up close.
After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease his heath started to deteriorate and eventually the decision was made to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all who have blessed to know him.
A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Cerenity. The love and compassion given to him was such a blessing to him and his family.
