In memory of Paul Martin Quehl, a man of integrity, loyalty, and quiet strength, who passed away at the age of 92 on February 27, 2024, in Cambridge, Minnesota. Born in the city of Saint Paul on January 6, 1932, Paul was the son of Herbert and Dena Quehl.
Paul was a proud graduate of South Saint Paul High School, Class of 1951 where he was an avid hockey player.
Paul Quehl was a devoted patriot who served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, a period he held close to his heart throughout his life. Following his time in the service, Paul dedicated himself to a successful career as a salesman at Barton Company, showcasing his remarkable skills and work ethic.
A man of simple pleasures and steadfast principles, Paul's heart belonged to his family and his community. His passion for golfing and fishing brought him moments of tranquility and joy, while engaging in political discussions revealed his sharp intellect and deep convictions. His love for his country was matched only by his devotion to his family, a bond that remained unbreakable until his final days.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; siblings, Neil (Loretta), Roger (Lucille), Earl, Lois (Jim) Traynor; daughter-in-law, Kristin.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Patty), Robert (Robin); grandsons, A.J., Philip, Joseph (Amy), Steven; step granddaughter, Jessi (James) Regnier; great grandchildren, Rose, Charles, Henry; brother, David (Teri); sister-in-law, Mary Jo; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
