Pauline Adeline Grubbs was born October 21, 1915 in Centerville, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Marcott) Marier. She was reunited with her beloved husband on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 following a lengthy illness.
Pauline met her beloved George while he was working for her parent's neighbor "Uncle Herb". They dated for some time prior to their marriage in 1937. The children recall their parents sharing a familiar story of how their Dad would take their mom and her brother to the park in Excelsior to ride the roller coaster. They recall their mother being less fond of the roller coaster and how their father would pay the ride attendant to send them around one more time. When the ride was finally over, he would have to pry Pauline's hands from the coaster bar. Perhaps, he was testing her!!!!
They were united in marriage at the Forest Lake Christian Church in 1937. They later made their home in Columbus Township where George farmed and Pauline was always willing to lend a helping hand. Starting a marriage during these difficult times was a true testimony to their love for one another. They started this marriage with one sac of flour and one sac of potatoes. To this marriage was born four loving children, Norman, Gloria (Wally) Anderson, Kenneth (Mary) Grubbs, Gordy (Kath) Grubbs.
Pauline was an active member of the Forest Lake Christian Church where she was involved with the Ladies Aide and several bible studies. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, watching the birds, tending to flowers, fishing, camping and all things involving the outdoors.
She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her including her devoted children, Norman, Gloria (Wally) Anderson, Kenneth (Mary) Grubbs, Gordy (Kath) Grubbs; twelve grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances, Delores; brothers, Ivan, Andrew, Walter; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
