Ray E. Peterson, age 85, formerly of St. Louis Park, died peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2008 surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.
Ray graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1941. Following his graduation he proudly served his country during WWII in the Navy Sea Bees. He was accepted in the V-12 program to attend the University of Minnesota. He was a dedicated employee of Western Electric Co., where he worked for 35 years based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and later in Fargo, North Dakota. Following his retirement, they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they made their home until 2006. He was a member of Minnehaha Lodge #165 AF&F, Scottish Rite, Zurah Temple Shrine.
He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him including his beloved wife of 61 years Donna; son Jeffrey (Mary); grandchildren, Eric (Amy), Jami (Ben); great grandchildren, Cameron, Allison, Olivia, Ella Grace, Maxwell, Greta; siblings, William and Marjorie. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Earl.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Please join the family following for a light lunch in the mausoleum chapel.
