Anderson, Vergil E.

On December 9, 2005, Reverand Vergil E. Anderson passed away at his residence in Gold Canyon, AZ. He was born March 4, 1926, to Herman and Elvira Anderson in Waseca, MN. Most of Vergil's youth was spent in Kenora, Ontario and Stockholm, Sask. Canada. He served with the distinction in the Marines during WWII. Vergil married Delphine Wahlstrom in 1948. In 1954, he graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. After several years as a lay minister, Vergil was ordained in 1958. He served congregations as a Lutheran Pastor in Carthage SD, Lake Park MN, International Falls MN, and Scandia MN. He received the Silver Beaver and other awards as a Boy Scout leader. He loved music, fishing, hunting, golfing and flying his Super Cub.

Vergil is survived by his wife, Delphine; sons, Joel and Nathan (Diane) Anderson; daughters, Miriam (Steve) Faloon and Rachel (Eddie) McKinley; and nine grandchildren, Erin, Sarah, Katie, Matthew & Meredith Anderson, Megan & Melissa Faloon, Cole & Christian Schempp. He is also survived by brothers Orville (Ethel) and Ralph (Doris) Anderson and sister Vera (Russell) Carr, sister in law Evalyn Corley, and nieces and nephews. We remember our heavenly family, including Vergil's sister Dorothy & Harold Ramberg, and his brother Paul Anderson.

Memorials may be given to Elim Lutheran Church Foundation or a favorite charity.

Memorial service 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 22, 2005, ELIM LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20971 Olinda Trail, Scandia. Visitation 12:30 until the time of service. Inurnment in Elim Lutheran Cemetery. Full notice to follow.
