Richard Allen Nissen, age 60, longtime Thief River Falls resident, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on June 11, 2014. Richard was preceded in death by his father; nieces; and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Alice Nissen; daughter, Jody (Darren) Daltry; son, Matt (Monica) Prude; siblings, Diane Eide (Ed) Kaiser, Lonny (Deb) Nissen, Catherine Wilson, Rodney Nissen; four grandsons; one granddaughter; 15 cherished nieces and nephews. Richard was an U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. He loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Richard's creativity and kind-heartedness endeared him to those he met. Graveside service 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at Silverton Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pennington County, MN.
