Richard Schwarten

Richard "Dick" David Schwarten, age 88 of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and family on March 17, 2013. "Dick" was born February 11, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota. "Dick" proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Schwarten; his wife, Iris (Bacon) Schwarten of 64 years. He will be greatly missed by his children, Suzanne (Al) Larson, Christine (Frank) Golden, Craig (Theresa) Schwarten, Deborah (Jeff) Hilger, and Robin Schwarten; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren (and 4 on the way). He took great joy and pride in his family and was a lover of dogs and animals.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 N. Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Family will greet friends from 10 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Home For Life Animal Sanctuary, PO Box 847 Stillwater, MN 55082 Interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville, Minnesota.
